AE-1200WH-1AV
AE-1200 is for the traveller who wants time-zone functions without maintaining an automatic between trips. Learn the world-time mode at home and the small display can carry information a decorative GMT bezel cannot.

The maker
Casio gives the AE-1200, G-Shock DW-5600 and solar AQ-S810 distinctly different faces. Each makes information part of the design.
The Sensei take
AE-1200 is a little world of digital information. DW-5600UE-1 supplies the familiar G-Shock square. AQ-S810W-1AV changes the display and adds solar quartz timekeeping. Three watches, three completely legitimate ways to get distracted.
Casio's appeal has room for function, nostalgia and the pleasure of a good screen. The collection is especially enjoyable when you stop treating a digital watch as an alternative to your other watches and start appreciating the display as a design in its own right.
We love Casio's different ways of making information visible. AE-1200's busy little digital world, the DW-5600 square and AQ-S810's solar-powered display each have their own attraction. A screen or combination of indications can be as satisfying to look at as a textured mechanical-watch dial, with nostalgia adding another personal layer.
For almost anyone who enjoys objects with a clear visual identity, but particularly the collector who has overlooked digital watches as designs in their own right. Casio is worth exploring through the display you enjoy using and looking at. We would let function, memory and appearance all have a legitimate place in the choice.
AE-1200 is our information-rich opening. DW-5600UE-1 is the G-Shock-square direction, while AQ-S810W-1AV adds solar quartz interest and another arrangement of the face.
We would give AE-1200, DW-5600 and AQ-S810 the same visual attention as a mechanical watch. The screen arrangement, case outline and amount of information each create a distinct object. AE-1200 invites the busier display interest; the G-Shock square has its own recognisable shape; AQ-S810 adds the solar direction. Choose the face you enjoy reading and the form you like seeing on the wrist. Nostalgia can be part of that pleasure without being the only reason.
The EFR-574 Edifice puts a tachymeter bezel around its chronograph display, with day and date information adding to the dial. The result has the busy, purposeful character that makes a good sports chronograph so absorbing.

AQ-S810W gives you an analogue time display with digital timing functions underneath. That division may suit someone who wants hands for ordinary reading and numbers for an interval.
The square G-Shock offers digital timing and a light in a resin case. It is the functional counterargument to buying a substantial mechanical diver for a fishing day. Set it before your hands are occupied or wet.
