Every Sensei Score is built from the same question: would we put this on our own wrist, at this price, over what else exists? The score weighs the movement, the build and materials, the finishing details, the originality of the design, and the value for money — in that spirit, not by secret formula worship.
A 9 is a genre benchmark. An 8 punches above its price. A 7 is a confident recommendation. A 6 is solid with real trade-offs. Below that, we'll tell you exactly why.
The rules we hold ourselves to
No brand pays for placement, ever. Affiliate links never influence a score. Original design beats homage. Specs are verified against the brand's own published data, and when something can't be verified we say so rather than guess.
When we're wrong, we correct it visibly. The directory is a living document — scores and takes get revisited as brands evolve.
