Unter dem weißen Zifferblatt verbirgt sich ein präzises Epson Solar-Quarzwerk (Kaliber AS32) . Das feine Solarpanel wandelt Licht in Energie um und speichert sie in einem wiederaufladbaren Energiespeicher. Bei voller Ladung läuft die Uhr bis zu 4 Monate , ganz ohne Batteriewechsel. Wenn der Sekundenzeiger im Zwei-Sekunden-Takt springt, ist der Energiespeicher fast leer – einfach für etwa 10 Minuten ins Licht legen, und die Uhr läuft wieder an. Überladen ist nicht möglich.
