RAF Digby x Burton - Blackout

This bespoke Burton Blackout edition has been specially created for current serving members and veterans of RAF Digby. This watch has been designed around the RAF sector clock. The RAF sector clock used in operations at RAF Digby during the Battle of Britain is an iconic 1940’s timepiece with Red, Blue and Yellow 5-minute segments. This enabled commanders to see how "old" a plot was (e.g., a red marker would mean 0- 5 mins old, yellow 5-10 mins) and manage the rapid, ever-changing situation during the Battle of Britain. It allowed fighter controllers to track the age of enemy aircraft sightings by colour, enabling rapid interception decisions to be made by Spitfire pilots.
